About this collection

Lantern slides were an early form of photography, comprised of a glass "sandwich". Most lantern slides were black-and-white, however, some were hand-painted. As new photographic techniques developed in the 1940's, lantern slides became obsolete. This collection is comprised of over 400 lantern slides featuring early photos of the Holy Lands, the life and death of Charles Spurgeon, and Los Angeles Pacific College.
